Hi, answer to the first question, I just haven't put up my photo of the Berguson sign yet. You can see a photo of it at my Landrus blog http://landrus.blogspot.com.
Second, yes, there were people living there before 1882 - 1882 was when it was declared a town, sawmill was built and more people started moving in.
Third, the town was named after Blossburg Coal Company worker/foreman Henry Jackson Landrus. He never actually lived in the town. Please leave an email in future comments so that I may reply to you.

descriptions??
Sarah, the pictures are nice but it would be cool if you added descriptions so other people would know what they are looking at...I visit this area from time to time so I can pretty close guess what they are...some of your photos are obvious but others are not

WHY?
I wonder why there is a picture of this marker and not the one installed by the berguson family who had a family member that actually lived in Landrus? and there were people living in the town Before 1882..

Town Name
Hello,
You may be surprised but my first name is Landrus and I was wondering if there was any more information on where the name came from or who the town was named after. I am trying to do my family tree and this came up and it is so interesting.
