Stone Marker, Landrus PA
Main Landrus, PA historical marker aka the stone marker. Located basically in the "center" of town (for reference purposes) along the side of Landrus Rd. I like to call this spot "downtown Landrus", hehe. DSC04930

Second, yes, there were people living there before 1882 - 1882 was when it was declared a town, sawmill was built and more people started moving in.
Third, the town was named after Blossburg Coal Company worker/foreman Henry Jackson Landrus. He never actually lived in the town. Please leave an email in future comments so that I may reply to you.

WHY?
I wonder why there is a picture of this marker and not the one installed by the berguson family who had a family member that actually lived in Landrus? and there were people living in the town Before 1882..

Town Name
Hello,
You may be surprised but my first name is Landrus and I was wondering if there was any more information on where the name came from or who the town was named after. I am trying to do my family tree and this came up and it is so interesting.
